The Power of Purpose

목적이 지니는 힘

 

 It’s only when we give ‘focus’ to ‘energy’ that we turn energy into power. Using a lens we can focus the energy of the sun so intensely it can cause the instant transformation of almost anything that it touches. We focus the energy of electricity into power using our multi-varied appliances which can range from a light bulb to a computer. Each appliance having its own purpose. We focus our intention into behavioural abilities using our intellect to assess the need of the moment as we create the appropriate response. And we focus the energy of our life, our consciousness, with a life purpose which, in turn, will shape our aims or goals.

 

지난번에 살펴보았듯이 에너지를 힘으로 변환시키는 것은 오직 ‘에너지’에 ‘초점’을 맞춰야만 가능하다. 렌즈를 사용하면 태양의 에너지를 집중적으로 모아서 그것이 접촉하는 것을 거의 무어든지 즉각 변형되게 만들 수 있다. 우리들은 전구부터 컴퓨터까지 광범위한, 다양한 기구들을 사용해서 전기 에너지의 초점을 맞춤으로써 힘을 만든다. 기구들은 각기 목적이 있다. 우리는 의도에 초점을 맞추어 집중함으로써 행동하는 능력으로 바꾸는데, 이때 지각을 사용해서 그 순간의 필요성을 평가하고 적절한 반응을 창출해낸다. 그리고 우리는 생명 에너지인 의식을 삶의 목적에 초점을 맞춰 집중하며, 그러면 이번에는 삶의 목적이 우리의 목적과 목표에 형상을 부여할 것이다.
